What score do you need?
You get a score from 1 to 6 for each section and an overall score. The overall score is the average of the four sections, rounded to the nearest half band. The scale is aligned with the CEFR framework.
For about two years after January 2026, score reports also show a comparable overall score on the older 0 to 120 scale. Some universities still quote the old scale and others now use the new one.
Every university sets its own requirement. There is no universal pass mark.
Your counsellor will confirm the exact score for each university on your shortlist.
